About Me

Keep the Dream Alive!

Hi everyone and welcome to One Thousand Words. For anyone who's interested enough to have clicked on this page, my name is Imran and I'm a student of the Commerce Faculty at the University of Cape Town in South Africa. Between studying how to build flawed stochastic models, finding applications for the pseudo-science known as Economics, and writing sterile Business Strategy assignments, I still harbour the dream of one day becoming an author. Since my days as a youngling, I've been reading, writing and dreaming and One Thousand Words is my way of keeping the dream alive.

On my site you'll find short fiction pieces (some of them stories and some of them not), thoughts on whatever I've finished reading and maybe even the occasional essay or two. One Thousand Words is me trying to keep that creative spirit alive. I'm constantly trying to improve as a writer and hoping to get some constructive feedback along the way from anyone kind enough to read. So thank you for visiting. Feel free to comment on posts, suggest books for me to read or even harshly criticize my work. For now, I'm still experimenting with style and genre so I'm open to anything.

Thanks for visiting!
